avi to mpeg encoder?

i want to reduce the size of an avi ive got (fraps vid of some duccati TDU ownage :cool:

) so i can put it on my phone

will an mpeg be smaller if so does anyone know of a freeware encoder?

Depends on what video format the avi is, but assuming it is a divx\xvid type of file, converting to an MPEG2 will make it bigger.

Your best bet is to use something like pocketdivx encoder to shrink down the resolution...

Depends what file formats the phone can handle of course...

May not be any good for a SE.
It's mostly for smartphones.

I have no idea what type of vdeo a 'normal' phone could handle I'm afraid.

ok i need an avi to 3gp encoder

found some freeware ones on google but avast was going nuts so it would seem there all full of viruses, not good eh

can anyone recomend one please
