Avivo PowerDVD

Having just got a new avivo capable card im looking to see if it makes any difference at all. I have latest avivo codec and cats installed.

My first stop is power dvd hardware acceleration. Is it normal for avivo mode to look horrendous ?. The image output leaves after images and blurs details. It looks exactly like Noise reduction as used by dscaler and my tv card software.

dissabling avivo in powerdvd, the output is normal again (well as normal as im used to seeing from my previous x800).

from my experience avivo is useless compared to purevideo. purevideo actually works and reduces cpu usage. avivo does f all.

seems to have done the trick. Elsewhere in the thread it mentions nvidia driver can suffer the same problem but the noise reduction is configurable..sometimes, unlike in ati drivers hence the reg fix is needed.
