The system we use looks for executables, so unless you disable the scan itself, you can't hide it. And trust me, if you disable the scan, we would know about it. Your better off formally reqesting chrome be made avaliable through the proper process.

I think there are portable versions of Chrome, so that would skirt around an "installed programs" check. But if the scanning software just looks at every exe then it's going to be a bit harder.
As others have said, if installing/using Chrome is expressly forbidden, it's probably a bad idea to proceed with this.

Nobody here will know what technology your company uses to audit which means, therefore, nobody here will be able to advise you.
I suggest you do what you want and get fired though.
Audit or not would take 2 seconds looking through user-agent strings on the proxy server, find the originating IP/Hostname and match it back to logged on user.

Do it. The next time something does not work your IT dept. can say they cannot support you on a non-standard company system.

Yes, it's a hard line to take but I think it's fair to say if your company has gone as far as auditing installed software they are also the kind of company who WILL take a hard line.

If they allow USB sticks (and for the record I use IE every day). Bypassing the security audit in most places of work is a sackable offence. Most companies will not allow you to get out of the network without going via a Proxy anyway so, depending on how the firewall is configured, you will still need to enter the proxy server details into there which you probably won't have.
Seriously if you want a different browser raise a call - if they're any good the can at least give you reasons why not or you may get lucky. You might find that, corporately, you will need to use IE (Sharepoint / CRM / etc. require it).
