Hey guys, I just got hold of this game for the princely sum of 2.99 courtesy of steam, but cant find any games.

The graphics arent as awful as you would think, it came out the year following unreal tournament and people still play that to this day.

Only thing wrong with it is the run speed is on the ludicrously speedy side, not sure if this was a feature, possibly to keep the action levels high.

I dont see why we couldnt arrange some retro gaming sessions, starting with AVP!

Any takers? guys?

ok the graphics wont blow you away but theyre functional, you can easily spot different xenomorph types which is all you need.

Are there still any servers up fo MP on this game? It was never the most popular online

Which is a great pity!

This was one of the best games of its time, nothing terrified me more in any game than hearing a face hugger scuttling round the floor and not having a clue where it was!

there is no dedicated server support...at least not in the steam version.

but we can host listen servers, and configure them any way we want!

Try setting the process affinity to a single core and/or enable vsync if it's running too fast, relatively common issue with the Unreal engine.

What was the name of the hosting software you had to use to join servers and talk to people back in 2000? Can anyone remember

Use to be gamespy iirc. Almost looked like a beta version of comrade lol. Use to join lobbies through that software then all click play and ended up in the same game.

The coop on the game was fantastic and still one of the best LAN co-op titles I've ever played on any platform. The "bunker" level was so simple but utterly awesome at the same time. My highest ever score on there with my best mate was over 1000 alien kills without dying lol. (took most of a sunday afternoon I might add)

That Bunker map was definitely the best co-op map. Thats the only one I ever played really. I played some of the others but only for the deathmatch modes

I still play this game as alien and predator but havnt played the latest game yet im witing for the price to drop

I hear its not great. My brother played it and didn't like it at all and he was a huge fan of the original 2 games (especially the 2nd)

I enjoyed the latest one, and had fun with both the single and multiplayer parts. However, I know people who liked it, while some of my other friends didn't.

Have a google around, and you can get it for a tenner - easily worth it imo, even though there are others who will tell you it isn't. For that price, make your own mind up.

Word! Even on god mode those things scared the crap out of me :S I was once playing marine campaign on the god mode cheat in the middle of the day with a few mates behind me. Suddenly one of them got a bright idea and grabbed my shoulder - don't think I've ever jumped so high off a chair in my life o.O The game was that intense!
