AvP MP demo is live

rebelion never mentioned a demo until sega started talking about one. they put pressure on them to release it and as a result we got a rushed mess.
 
OMG I finally got into a game!

Looks average, controls are reeeeeally laggy. I played as Predator and I was getting massacred (not entirely sure how to get other weapons?! Or how to change character?!).

I'm not sure if this is a shoddy game, or a just a shoddy console port - will try the PS3 demo tonight and decide!

Very poor game. I'm gonna cancel my pre-order. To not even put DX11 in the demo is absurd. They must realise the gameplay is poor so adding in some nice graphics could have swayed a few ppl to still buy the game at least...

Who mapped the keys too? What an odd arrangement....
 
To solve the desktop crashing you have to set your soundcard sampling rate to 48kHz. It doesn't work at 96kHz. :S

WTF, that's crazy! A super high-end graphics card like an 8600mGT can't run a new game decently? It must be the game! I used to have a laptop with an 8600mGT, and games like Penny Arcade were a slideshow back in 2007. It's rather harsh to blame the game when you're running the equivalent of a 7600GT.

that wasnt on highest settings .

doing one now on my highest settings with predator :D

played as marine, alien and predtor now . marine is best for pure ease . alien seems very tricky to handle will take a while to tame the buggar . predator seems a little slow but im no predtor expert so maybe with a bit more practice hell be more of a ass kicker.

graphics make sure you have everything maxed cause it does make a difference.

the map is about worst one they could have picked to demo thegame very bland.

i think that the co op and friend side will make this game not sure about the multiside unless some tweaks are done

Well this is the console version ported over to be a pc demo and as has been said they rushed it to keep sega happy so maybe not fair to judge the game just yet. Also have to agree if your going to release only a mp demo fgs get some dedies sorted out because not having them is a joke. If you have a console then this demo is worthwhile as your seeing what your going to get if your on pc i don't think we can take too much from the this demo as it clearly isn't what we will get on release.

Would love to comment on the actual gameplay but i am stuck in the searching for games crap same as so many others. Won't judge the game itself too much yet but rebellion you suck this is not the way to do things and you should sack the idiot that didn't tell sega to sod off.
 
Well, 13 minutes left to go.

Unfortunately My HDD failed last night so I'm I'm on a backup machine:

W7, 2gb ram, 2ghz c2d and a monster 8600gt. This isn't goning to be pretty.
 
Ages trying to get a game, and when i have managed, theyve all been 360 folk (i think, due to the foreign gash languages spoken entirely throught the whole level) and connection problems, and oh the woe, the woe.......

Found it hard to use predator, gives u controls for the weapons, but you have to find them first!! The consoles charge ure shoulder cannon up, but I have no idea how to use the rest (I picked up a spear, and couldnt use it so got tailed thru the back while trying to figure it out).

Got on better as a marine (just) and never bothered with the Alien as everyone gets to it first! :(
 
Waiting, waiting and more waiting, 30 min sessions of trying to find others for a game and still no success all morning. What ever happened to simplistic method of just giving up a nice server list of dedicated servers to play on? Yup its a demo but come on Rebellion this really is not the way to market your product surely.

It's got all the hall marks of a rushed console port from the intital screens with god awful large icons. A friends managed to connect once and observed that fov is pretty awful and the marines as sluggish as hell even with movement sensitivity set to compensate. He concluded its been done to give the other two species a much easier time, when hes trying to turn and is dead before he even sees an Alien or predator appear behind him.
 
Well that was awful. The game ran OK but controls were sluggish, FOV was too tight etc.

Basically the same issues everyone else has mentioned.
