The APC line-r voltage regulator does not have much surge protection, worse than a normal surge strip.... I need AVR and good surge protection, apparently it is not a good idea to plug a surge strip before or after the APC line-R, I spoke to APC and they said it is only guaranteed for 2 years and that the surge protection is only 300 joules which will then not work after 300 joules worth of surges / spikes.
So the question is... other than an expensive UPS (which also seem to have worse surge protection than a standard surge strip) How am I supposed to get strong surge protection and automatic voltage regulation at the same time on the same socket? (without buying an expensive UPS)
Please help me this issue is annoying me as I need AVR but I do not want to sacrifice the surge protection either, I don't mind replacing a surge strip every few years as they are cheap... But I am not happy replacing an AVR every 2 years to ensure surge protection...
Can anyone help me please?
