Been after a nice denon A/V receiver since well forever tbh :o

Eyeing up the Denon avr-x2200 A/V receiver and was thinking of some Q aqustics 3020's

Picked the x2200 as without spending silly money it seems a good bit kit for what you get price wise(sub £500).

The speakers I've gone for is from referencing forums that members have been impressed with given size.

However I've also looked at the Wharfedale Diamond 220's

Was going to add later on some more to complete a 5/7.1 setup

Good/bad way to go ? opinions on said equipment ?

Must admit, think it's best way to go, the denon stuff I heard from a friend that I was with when he was deciding between a denon and marantz a number of years ago now though.

Think It's speaker choice thats the problem.

Cheers for the link Grimley. I've seen a few do bundles with various speaker setups.

I think speaker choice is going to be down to personal taste, what music type/film type I listen/watch will also play a big part. Gonna take your advice Grim and go for a look/listen .

After looking round I can pick last years 4100 up for around the same price all be it over kill for what I will use.

Moogly, do you use your for music too ?

I'm also wanting to put the PC through it :D

Just an update, ended up with a x4200 due to the price drop they got after xmass :D More than I initally planed I know but figured I wouldn't need any more SPS(Sounds Per Second) for a good while.

Have to say, what a piece of kit!:D:D:D:D

Still not got any decent speakers yet, have 2 custom made 8"'s am using for music(zone 2). Using some old surround sound speakers for TV/movies atm. The avr even manages to make crappy old satellite speakers sound reasonably good

Trouble is am after a small sub/speaker package, most have a rather large sub/main fronts. The Q acoustic 3070 sub is not bad but would like smaller, looking around is looking unlikely without going stupid money that is.

@MOOGLEYS what sub you using, if any?

@VincentHanna Did you sort your blu-ray player?

Also have any of you denon owners tried the denon avr app? It's great when it works, can be picky about connecting I've found. Shame as its easier to use than the remote

Some nice setups there guys, Mine looks rather lacking compared to them.

@Spit, that TV looks huge!!!

I've been looking at the Q 7000 series too, they are nice and small/compact. The reviews rate them highly too as well as owners I've found.
I do like the BK sub though, good idea using it as a stand of sorts, though that could be interesting if you get carried away with the volume button. :p
