have users noticed its a severe system hog, when running my core 4 strugles. internet media blotches.

AVS Video Converter does have Multi-Core Support (left hand column) which would possibly account for some of it...

It's not one I have ever used.

even doing whats you suggest and do the multicore bit and change settings theres no diffence.

Translating movies/video is an intensive procedure a few years back it would have been impossible! Not a good idea to try writing a DVD at the same time etc etc
