So let me start off by saying, howdy!!!

This is my first PC mod Thread, and i hope you enjoy it. Make sure to like it and show me pictures if you go ahead and try and install this.

Difficulty 6/10

since your viewing my post i gather your looking to mod your pc case with some lighting but don’t want to spend a lot of money... well this build will cost you less than £10 and a little DIY! The outcome is way better than the £40+ light panels you can buy, which in my opinion are a rip off. I have included a guide below showing you how i did it and what i used..

You will require a soldering iron, some shrink-wrap, wire cutters and a Molex connector

Step 1: Purchase this Light Kit! the 5050 LEDs are brill, they are super bright and the controller STORES colour settings....

Step 2: you will need to remove the 12v cable, and solder the some new cable to the + and - pins on the light panel, this took me no less than 30 seconds and used a mutli meter to check the continuity i advice doing this just to make sure everything is working fine.

Step 3: make sure you use the 12V on the Molex connector and not the 5V, do some cable tidying, i brayed the cable to make it look nicer and added heat shrink wrap around the board to stop any electrical serge.

Step 4: Install inside your case, (if you have a spare power supply, you can hotwire it and test the light strip before installing in your computer) i did this to make sure it wasn’t going to blow my computer up :D i advice you do the same.

Step 5: Turn on and enjoy!! :)

i don't think i will get in trouble, i am only recommending the light kit, its not like Overclockers sell this.. and i also don't no the seller of the light kit :) by all means if you want to get the product from someone else it doesn't effect me :)

i totally agree! them pictures on your camera came out better then the ones i took with my camera :D hahaah! nice job dude, very clean :) i wish some other people would try my tutorial :)

look good Juggern! please remember to like this post :) i am glad a few people are willing to try out my mod, its so simple and affordable.. the controller has lots of awesome settings! i cant recommend it enough!!!

you can use RGB it has the support on the controller :) the 5050 150 LED per 5M are brighter then the 300 LEDs per 5M.. and trust me the ones i recommend at the start of the post are a steal and super bright... also if your looking to save power the 5050 kit i recommend will do that!

cut all the cables out of the molex connector, and follow the guide from the start. its pretty simple. you only need to solder 2 wires and connect the cables in the correct place on the molex :)

I'm also interested in doing this mod. Anyone know which kit to get, I'd like the 300 led rgb with a 44 key remote. They all seem to come with a really big & cumbersome power brick now instead of the nice small controller like the original one?

you are not going to need the POWER brick... if you solder to a molex connector the pc will deal with the power... :)

if you like my PC L.E.D. MOD please rate this post and buy me a coffee Paypal: [email protected], i am planning on doing this mod again in the future and will do a video explaining step by step, for those who found it a little hard to follow my step by step guide.

Cheers Guys
