Awful loading times?

I'm running Simpsons: Hit and Run, I found it on a shelf and thought it would be a laugh.

But I can hardly run it, to load a level takes around 15 minutes. I have an Athlon II x4 and an ATI Radeon HD 5770. I know my hardware isn't great but when this gamer was made my PC would have been bowed to. Any help?

I've tried running it in XP compatability mode as well.

Is V-Sync on? If you have that on in gta 4 it makes loading take AGES so im wondering if you have vsync on in that game and is the cause.

No improvement. Wouldn't have thought to blame my GPU for loading times, though...
