I'm getting terrible pings on my 30mb Virgin Media connection, here's a ping graph from thinkbroadband:

As you can see it gets pretty unusable during peak times, with horrible erratic pings and loads of dropped packets. VM are being incredibly unhelpful, the most recent call I made to their tech support resulted in them telling me that ping times were unimportant and I shouldn't worry about it. Very helpful.
Anyway, I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger and leaving for someone else but I'm on a brilliant loyalty deal and any other broadband deal I can switch to would end up with me on a theoretically slower connection (~11mbs) and cost an extra tenner or so a month.
Any ideas of anything I could try? It doesn't matter if I'm over WiFi or through ethernet, btw.
