Awfully strange disconnection issue

Hey all.

I keep having a very strange disconnection issue regarding my PC on Windows 10. Every so often (~48 hours although this is now progressing to ~12hrs) I completely lose internet connection on my PC (Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop, PS4 all remain connected) and the only way for me to restore internet to my PC is a hard reset. The strange thing is though, while I cannot connect to any websites, I can remain connected when I am on WoW. So for example, I remain connected to WoW yet Chrome / Edge / Firefox all tell me that an Internet Connection is not present.

I am currently using Google Dns (changed in an effort to resolve the issue), I have tried to /flushdns. I am unaware of any IP conflicts as each device on my network is assigned. I am at a loss so hoping any of your bright ones can figure it out.

How is the PC connected? Wireless, Powerline, Ethernet cable?

Anything in the Windows logs when it happens?

Once it happens can you ping either your router or any any sites on the Internet?

PC is connected via Ethernet Cable.

Nothing in the logs referring to the problem.

I will try to ping both the router and a few sites when it rears it's ugly head again.

I am using windows firewall and just the standard windows av.

I had the issue appear again and could ping both the router and both the BBC and Google.

Given that your pings work and other devices are okay it looks like Windows problem rather than basic connectivity.

If you google 'internet connected but browser not working' there are a lot of hits and suggested things to try.

I believe I have found the cause of the problem.

In my manual proxy setup is a <-loopback-> to 127.0.0.1:8080.

To further add to my post, the loopback proxy was embedded within my installshield scheduler. Once I had removed the scheduler, I ran MWB which then detected multiple problems. One of the problems being the loopback proxy.

Thanks all for help.
