ax 850 brand new noise

You posted at 12:34 this morning, since then a lot of people are probalby at work or asleep for the majority of it.

I my self am at work so can't listen the file you have uploaded, you still yet havent asked a question but you are asking for help :)

I assume your psu is making a strange or annoying noise and are looking for help explaining what the noise is and a possible fix?

Next you have posted a link to a file called Memo.m4a that you have done an online virus scan on while finding no threats but I can't understand what the two have in relation.

well i turned off c1e support in my bios and the noise went down its still there but not as much but this is a brand new ax 850 i mean why is a brand new ax 850 doing this? i had a 850hx before and it did the same and my question is, is the noise normal should i be worried?

Sounds like a coil whine. Does it do it powered off? It also depends how loud it is. Mine does it, but you have to basically stick your ear in the exhaust.

Talk to corsairs forums and reps. If it's loud enough to bother you and your work, I wouldn't want that from a £160 PSU.

well i can hear it when am at my chair if i listen but its seems like all corsair power supply's got this problem i turned of the c1e and it did make it more quiet

I've never had a PSU with coil whine.

The PC I'm using now has a Corsair HX 750W PSU and it's fine.

If you think your PSU has a problem just send it back.

I don't think they will take it back under them grounds, or if they do they will probably test it and say it's fine. If you want to send it back do so under DSR and then there's no come back.

Why dont you think they Will give me à new one? What does dsr mean and why does it do this sound i mean why sell bad stuff on the forums theres a lot of ppl with the same problem i changed from à hx850 to ax850 cus it had sound problems 2 and the ax 850 is the most quiet psu they have acording to corsair they even have problems with ther ssd's just saying corsair seem to be à bad place to buy from only when ppl are lucky they get à good part

Just because it emits a noise doesn't mean it's faulty. I said return it under DSR, this stands for Distance Selling Regulations

If you purchase goods via:

the internet
digital television
mail order, including catalogue shopping
phone
fax

Then you can return these goods within seven working days, no questions asked.

I think you get a full refund except the carriage cost.

Have to say it annoys me a little when people do this with suspect products, as this is put back into stock and sold to some one else i.e Me and that just really ticks me off

Do you have a very quiet computer? Many people who report no coil/capacitor noise may just not be able to hear it over the fans in there system.

I had that on mine when I installed it, turns out it was an RMA that had been resent out to me (not OCUK). I was offered an RMA but didn't bother as I didn't want to rebuild my system again and go without it for a few days.

Think mine comes with a 7 year warranty with Corsair so I'm covered if it ever does go or gets worse.
