AX760 PSU - Why are there 2 sockets for 24 pin ATX?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the whole PC building, modding, tweaking scene so I am sure that I will be asking some pretty foolish newbie-level questions over the coming weeks and months.

I was looking at some pics of a Corsair AX760 PSU and was wondering why there were 2 different sockets for 24 pin ATX connectors on there?

Do you mean the 18pin and 10pin socket underneath it?

I do not know.

Im no PSU expert but my Antec also has this type of double socket for the 24pin connector.

The 24pin is in the bottom middle of that pic, you can see that it has the 20+4pin on one end for the motherboard side, the other end is split into those two distinct connectors to go into the PSU.
