Can get both for the same price, which should I go for!?

AX850 obviously on a very good deal here... Is it worth going for the more recent model though?

Will be going in a LAN rig, its over specced but I never skimp on a PSU.

Thanks in advance!

If they are the same price then go for the more powerful one,you will never know if you need the extra grunt later on.

Ocuk are doing a offer on the 850w PSU, I currently use the 750w version.

What are your system specs? (one in sig?)

So do we think just go with the AX850 and the "platinum" rated 760 is good but may as well stick with what we know?

Spec is similar to sig, I would get n AX650 but they are the same price pretty much so seems no point!

Yeah, platinum DC / DC power is nice, but frankly, as a user, you won't even notice the difference.

It's all black sleeved, jap caps (basically, good quality components), the fan is hybrid (only turns on after 25% load). The AX850 is basically a Seasonic X-850 in a different chassis (and I think the fan is also different). It's a tried and tested design, clean power output, and been the benchmark for a few years.

So really, for £125, there's no reason not to. You get more headroom for SLI, 5 year warranty, and much cheaper.

Both are very good. It's up to you really, I just know what I'd go for.

Going into a Bitfenix white..... It is very hard.. Also would "rather" buy off OCUK but cannot help thinking, resale value, 7 year warranty I should go for the 760..

Corsair PSUs are not like they used to be. Many problems exist as they have lowered quality of build whilst raising the price. You are really better off with a seasonic as the quality is a clear step above corsair. Its a bit more expensive but extremely unlikely to go pop like many of the recent AX and AXI corsairs. They also dont suffer from the idle coil whine that is extremely annoying.

Had 0 problems with my AX750, It doesn't even turn on while in games, can't only make the fan turn on If i run furmark + prime95 to draw loads of power. Amazing unit, got mine from ebay for like £90, like new (opened box but never used)

Looks a real squish on a 160mm PSU like the AX, think i may get the coolermaster silent modular......

That's the general consensus. On the Prodigy you are better off with a 150mm PSU or less. I think there's a Silverstone that's 140mm, but that's just showing off.

Or you can try an extension bracket. That's also a popular way of fitting larger PSUs on the prodigy.

Not the most secure, and there's been some requests for BitFenix to release a simple, but more secure PSU bracket (like a Lian-Li PE-01B). Who knows... They seem to listen to their customers.
