AXA insurance

Hi,

Just got what I think is a great quote today from AXA for £700 for an ST (im 23). This is almost half what I pay at the moment for a 1.2!

Just curious to know how good AXA are? I know they are well known but just curious for some forum member comments.

I could go with quinns based locally but you hear quite a lot of dodgy stories about refusing payouts etc etc. I really know nothing about insurance so all I need is some reassuring on AXA before I go with it! Obviously I want a cheaper price than currently pay but if AXA aren't great then I would plan on keeping looking around.

I take it you no nothing about the insane insurance prices in NI for young drivers! Almost half was maybe a bit ambitious but its certainly near 1k.

AXA = Swiftcover or so it seems, in which case they are deffo NOT top class in my experience. To cut a long story shirt, they refused to pay out for a fault claim on my sisters policy, now she is getting hassled by the courts about it.

What about other names like open&direct or allianz-direct or directline? I am guessing they are all pretty much equal. Getting any insurance for cheap in NI is near impossible!

Open & Direct never heard of them.

Allianz are good, directline pretty good too.

Lol - there are plenty of them here but very few in comparison to the rest of the UK!

Thanks for the info. AXA quote includes breakdown cover, widescreen costs, car contents, legal costs (dunno what for) so it sounds like good package.

Nope, the reason was that they deemed his (guy who's claimed for his damaged X5) hire car charge to be excessive.
