Anyone have any idea what this may be? Microsoft edge keeps repeatedly getting a pop-up appear that wants to load this file

az382878.vo.msecnd.net. 365Kb iirc.

I cancel it but it keeps popping up. Is it likely to be a virus or some malware trying to sneak in?

I've run a full McAfee scan and it doesn't flag anything.

There's a couple of youtube videos for 'vo.msecnd' with different start numbers.

try removing edge and reinstalling? (if you can)

vo.msecnd is part of the Azure CDN network.

Browsing to http://az382878.vo.msecnd.net/index.html it comes up with "edgecast.net" text who are now owned by Verizon

az382878.vo.msecnd.net is a CNAME to cs9.wpc.v0cdn.net which there are a bunch of mentions I can find relating to sysinternals, also if you check the certificate for https://cs9.wpc.v0cdn.net you can see a load of microsoft common names.

It's likely to not be dodgy but I can't find much explanation other than what I've dug through.

Cheers

I have no Idea what a CNAME is...

I've restarted my PC and up to yet it's not appeared again. Only thing that I've been doing recently that I don't normally do is hunting through some financial sites looking at Annuities/Pensions and savings stuff with some interactive graphical type content. I just wondered it if it might be something to do with that? But to be honest I have no idea what's kicked it off.

I did a quick search myself but nothing was forthcoming. As above I did find YouTube links to similar issues, but not that exact filename.

Well I ran a full scan this afternoon and set the PC to turn off if no issue were found. I came back in and it had all turned off. Been back on since about 3:30 and it's not popped up again. I guess it's just "one of those things" and maybe I visited a site that had some sort of re-direct lurking. Dunno, never seen it before though.

Anyway the ole, "Have you tried turning off and on again?" Appears to have done the trick...:)

Thanks for pointers, Peeps..
