Anyone else own one of these? I've had mine 6 months now and I love it, such a fantastic bit of kit.

(I am not affiliated with the company, just a satisfied customer)

I was starting to get a touch of RSI / wrist pain in long sessions with the keyboard so I looked for alternatives and found this.

So it replaces the keyboard for keyboard & mouse games. It has tons of buttons all easily reachable (with a bit of practice) and a thumbstick that can work as a normal thumbstick or can be mapped to WASD for games that don't support controller input.

It's very adjustable, the 'tower' that holds the buttons for each finger can be adjusted left-right and forward-back. The thumbstick position is also adjustable.

The software (used for binding each button) is simple, effective and easy to use. Two different binding profiles can be stored on the azeron hardware and swapped between with a button on the device itself, no need to tab out and use the software. In addition an unlimited number of profiles can be stored on the PC and these can be switched in or out at any time via the azeron software. There is also some very advanced and complex 3rd party software (paid) that is compatible should you want more customization.

The manufacturers are incredibly helpful and supportive of anyone needing technical support or modding advice (on their discord). They even allow 2nd hand sales on their discord which is unusual but a very effective gesture of good faith toward their customers.

I have the 'classic' in large size with curved palm rest, switches and LEDs in UV/purple with everything else black (yes you can customize the colour of every component for extra cost). I've modded mine with bump stops for the buttons and lizard skin grip tape on all the buttons and the palm rest.

For fast twitch/FPS games it's great, transition from keyboard took only a few sessions to get used to it. The only thing that is more difficult is the fast alternate strafing (alternately hitting A and D in rapid sequence) but that can be remedied by a restrictor ring for the thumb stick. Having all the secondary functions like various heals, squad instructions/comms, special abilities etc bound to the buttons makes it so much easier compared to reaching halfway across the keyboard. Having all the fingers free for these functions (because the thumb handles WASD) is a big help, especially in slower pace survival games like Tarkov, Rust etc.

For open world games it's a similar story except for those that have massive amounts of key bindings. E.g. rockstar's GTA5 and RDR2 have so many bindings that things can get a little complicated and lots of trial and error required to get it feeling right. Still tons better than having to use a keyboard though.

Previously (e.g. for GTA5) I would use kb&m while on foot and use a controller while in a vehicle, now I can use the mouse & azeron all the time and it's far more comfortable.

I've never been a fan of regular keyboards for gaming, so I did look into these at one point. I think it was the thumbstick that put me off though. What do you use that for in-game?

Thumbstick is for movement just like a console controller. For most games the thumbstick is mapped to WASD so it behaves more like a D-pad than a proper stick, you can only move in 8 directions and it's either full speed or nothing. Some games support dual input, which means they allow using KB&M inputs and controller inputs simultaneously, in these games you can you the thumbstick properly i.e. move in any direction and modulate speed by pushing the stick further. A list of such games is here. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/List_of_games_that_support_simultaneous_input

Even for games that do not support dual input I still find the Azeron superior to a keyboard.
