Got an XPlosion 7.1 for Christmas, but I've got that annoying mic problem where the input from the mic is played back through the speakers, creating an echo of your own voice. Very irritating when trying to use teamspeak or the like.

Changing the mic levels in the Xear-3D driver panel does not seem to have any effect, and I can't find any other options in Vista to achieve the same end. I remember with XP the mic had a separate level in the standard mixer you could tweak, but with Vista it only seems to give the volume levels for running programs.

Has me a bit stumped. Any ideas?

If you open control panel (use classic view) and select the sound applet you will see a recording tab. Select it and you will see your mic listed, if you highlight your mic by clicking on it and then click on properties you will be able to change the volume level.

If you are getting feedback I would suggest muting the mic.

There is also a configure button at the lower left of the window that you could try.

Start --> Control Panel --> Sound --> Right click on your speakers --> Properties --> Levels

Mute the mic in here, that'll stop it playing through your speakers.
