Hi.

When I am setting up Azureus I need to enter a port, but any port comes up as connections refused etc.., I've tried forwarding those port but with no luck

I have a Netgear DG834V3 Router.

Also, what is the best version of Azutrus, this new one comes with a totally different interface and seems to be slower.

Whats the best torrent app currently out?

Thanks
Willz.

upnp should be on anyway by default, make sure its on in azureus (better than utorrent tbh) current ver is fine but make sure to set everything to advanced so you don't have to mess around with vuse

I personally don't agree with enabling UPnP on a router.
Have a look at portforward.com and see if you can get the rules set properly.

How is Azureus better than utorrent?

I've tried using PFConfig, also disabling Windows Firewall, still Azureus says the ports aint working:

Testing port 4871 ...
Unable to test: Invalid port given, or test service failed.
Another application may already be using this port..
(Error: Read timed out).

Try using a higher port.. In the around 50k. Give yourself a static IP and then forward that port on your router to your IP address.

I would advise against using UPnP and set it up manually. Also Azureus seems to be better than Utorrent just make sure you are using v2.5 instead of 3! :)

AOL uses Dynamic IP's tho, so that means static IP's are useless right?

I tried setting it to static IP in the router but then my connection died.

he means setting your pc/laptop up with a static ip in the TCP/IP properties of your network card.

I moved away from Azureus as I found it to be a complete resource hog. uTorrent seems to work a lot better for me.

Yeh thats what I meant.. :)

Oh, I dont know how to do that :(.

Just go into the TCP/IP properties of your network and assign a static IP. That is probably why the port forwarding isn't working! You need a static LAN IP.

Alternatively, you could do it through your router and assign a certain IP to your MAC address..
