B-grade 780ti misbehaving

I bought a B-grade Gigabyte 780ti recently off OC but before doing my research, apparently quite afew people have had problems with this card...

Now mine is behaving, sort of, no artefacts or anything in benches but it does need to have the memory downclocked to 6500Mhz or lower, otherwise it crashes in Far Cry 4 quite a lot (freezes and occasional BSOD), and occasionally in DayZ and Total War. I get the error 'nvidia driver has stopped responding and recovered error' but only in Far Cry.

The temps seem fine (sub 80 anyway) and it's nice and quiet.

Does anyone else have this card and have any tips to help me out? I'm confused that it seems to bench fine (scores match similar leaderboard specs) but not seem to like games so much. could RMA it but I'd probably get one with similar problems wouldn't I?

What would you do?

Rest of system is
i5-4670 (non-k)
8GB G-skill RAM
MSI Z87-G43
Corsair HX750

Thanks for reading

There was a bad batch of Gigabyte 780ti's a while ago looks like you have ended up with one. (I had one too) If you look through the 780ti owners thread there are quite a few posts on the subject.
