7970 for the price of a 7950?? im really really confuse here ! please guys give me some tips here. are they worth it ? what about the games, warranty etc?

or should i go with this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-065-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1673 ?
Why are so many of them ( B grade ) maybe some custumers find them faulty ? or unstable?

Big cheers

Buy the HIS 7950, only slightly less grunt than the 7970 but comes with 8 games, you can either keep or sell :)

Ok i got that . but what about the warranty are they used or refurbished ? why so many B grades of Gigabyte windforce 3x 7970? anyone has this card for some feedbacks please

Pretty sure they're voltage locked, would explain why so many are sent back? 90 days warranty with B-Grade items.

I wouldn't go for it due to yeah no games and 90 days warranty.

My friend from work recently bought a 7970 from the B grade section that didnt work.
I have also bought a 7950 that didnt work.
B grade is certainly a risk...

It is but if it dosn't work he hasn't lost anything has he? I agree that there's so many because they are voltage locked and coil whine will be another factor in them being sent back. Those 2 factors probs make up 70% of the b-grade 7970s.

You get the same risks by buying new though...I've had more DOAs from brand new purchases than second hand, that's why you have DSR and warranty.

I agree there is a risk buying new or second hand but still think its higher risk buying from the B section as all the cards are in that section for some reason.

Im guessing from my experience it was a refurbished card that problems went unoticed as the card did work for a few hours then died.

You will definitely get the money back but lose the cost of postage if there is a problem.

Ok i agree with you all also the 7950 is not that far from a 7970 and i will get 8 games for free :D

Yep. I have trained myself now to not "take chances" on hardware I am not sure about or is a little cheaper than what I was originally looking at. I always end up wanting the original item that got me interested anyways or somethings dif that I dont like and I end up out of pocket when I sell it to get said original item!
