ive tried to call but they are now closed
i know that with these you have a 14day warranty with ocuk, but does anyone know if you still get warranty with gainward ?

sorry about the title spelling

Presumably.

FYI, I received one yesterday. Comes in a little white box, with nothing else. End of the card is dented; looks like it's been dropped, but it works fine.

Id return that because im pretty sure Gainward would refuse an RMA if its dented

You get the warranty remaining with the manufacturer afaik so if its a year old that would be nothing but these cards arent old enough for that so seems a fair bet

U gt a decent discount GTX 280 at 199 + vat is a good deal.....

Ive had 2 items "b" grade, both have been absolutly fine, u still get manufacturers warranty.

No surprises there then ;),the wife's off next week so now just have to come up with a cunning plan to get it into the house without a bout of enforced celibacy:D

funny thing happened today
i drove down the stoke to buy a new evga 260.
i did have the full intention of getting one of the 2 280's that were still on the clearance line list as of 7.30 this morning and 9am when i got to the shop
i asked if i was able to see them both.
order went thru to warehouse and 5mins later i was told unfortunatly they had both been sold during the night.
how come the is still one left in stock now and there have been 2 instock up until around 2pm this afternoon ?

In my experience with ocuk they take ages to do stock updates.I ordered up a motherboard that had a status of '10+' and they told me it was out of stock.

Just for hits 'n' giggles tbh :D
Hehe! :D

reflux mate I think you need to rethink your life! :p

failing that me and the lads need to take you for a night out in town, get totally hammered and redefine the meaning of "hits 'n' giggles!"

Sounds like your staying at home and playing with yourself mate! :o

Oh, how right you are :( :D

you do get the warranty with gainward

chances are it will just be the card if its bgrade

but the manufacturers warranty will go off the serial number on the card - as long as you have a purchase reciept to go with it - then you will be ok

The differences between these cards then reflux ? 280 / X2
Cheers. :)

just to chip in - the difference is minimal the 280 has steadier fps but the x2 has higher fps

what i mean by that is you will see the minimum fps float all over the place
whereas the 280 keeps it fairly constant

it really does depend on application and essentially weather you prefer ati or nvidia

both cards are great but in different ways

Yup, spoke to a guy on the phone on Monday and discussed the problem with him, no problem he said, we'll do an RMA for you.

Just got emailed to say that they've tested the card and no fault found. Wtf? I knew it wasn't faulty, I requested a return because I didn't want a physically damaged card with no warranty. I would not have sent it in for testing since I have done that myself.

Bunch of monkeys

EDIT:

OCUK Staff said:
Dear Dave, We have inspected the card and Gainward would not reject the item for the slight damage to the card. It has been tested all day to ensure it works fine and has been returned to you at no cost to yourself. If you are unhappy with this outcome, please don't hesitate to contact us. Regards

Fair enough. I guess none of the examples on this page apply. They didn't charge me for the return, which is good. All's well that ends well I guess :)
