Hello all,

Looking at GPU's in the B grade section.
Has anyone had to deal with warranty in a B grade GPU after the 90 days with Ocuk?

Does it get rejected straight away or do you still get warranty?

I spoke with a competitor today about a return/refurb card and they informed me they still give the full warranty with the card as a new one would.

Just looking for some advice before spending that amount of money

P.s its Power colour and Sapphire specifically

Thanks

Best to ask customer services.

I see no reason a warranty would cease to exist after 90 days. You just go direct to the manufacturer and I would bet they simply treat it as a normal purchase.

If the retailer handles the warranty then I guess you'll be fine (so long as the RMA department is aware of this agreement), but if you had to deal with the manufacturer I think you'd be at the mercy of the rep that handles it and if they spot B-Grade in your invoice they could tell you that the warranty is only for the first user/purchase (which is something that most of them include nowadays).

Afaik, Sapphire won't deal with you direct, they'll always point you to the etailer that sold it for warranty returns.

It would have to be a hell of a deal for me to dump a 3 year warranty on a GPU down to 90 days, but it never is. you can make offers on stuff, not sure if you can do that in all categories though.

Sapphire make great GPUs but their warranty limitations suck. 2 years and no transfer means used buyers suffer.

If you stick to a manufacturer that has a transferable warranty you will get the full warranty. That applies to used or B grade/open box.

Any goods sold by a trade retailer still need to be "fit for purpose", so the 90 days should be taken with a pinch of salt. If you get a 4090 for £1.60 you'd perhaps expect it to last for 90 days and you'd have trouble arguing that in court, but not the case for b-grade with only a small price reduction from new / unopened.

My personal comment though, not a reflection on the store policies :)

You have to be careful with which manufacturer you go with as some will refer you back to the retailer for the first 2 years.

Not a GPU, but I got a B grade Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless (so not a cheap headset by any measure!) which developed a very common and well known fault (which is very clearly due to bad design) just after a year, and as soon as they saw B grade on the OCUK invoice they told me to do one. Needless to say I won't be buying any more Steelseries products.

Bought B Grade quite a few times and when I've registered the item I've often got either the full warranty or whats left of it, eg EVGA GPU 2 years of a 3 year warranty.
