Hello

After being let down with my motherboard today I was having a look thru the ocuk website and came across the clearance section with quite a few good deals on motherboards.

The one I'm going to purchase in the morning is half the price of a new version, while most others are only a couple of quid cheaper at most than the new version. Which got me thinking is there anythin wrong with the item etc bar missing accessories possibly

Question is what's your experiance with ocuk b grade items

Worst case scenario is you get just the board and nothing else. Everything should be in full working order although people have recieved faulty stuff in the past. I had a B grade Palit GTX670 Jetstream and it was a beauty. It was just the bare card but was at a much lower price than it otherwise would have been.

Yeah not too fussy about sata cables etc however CS did say if there was no i/o shield in the box they would contact gigabyte for me and try to acquire one.

I'm more worried in case I end up with a second DOA board again

Got my current board just before xmas all that was missing was the hard paper manual and 2 sata cables and somehow I managed to get a mini screw driver with it too was more than happy :) also remember u get 90 days warranty so doa shouldn't be a problem

As said above you get 90 days warranty + if there is any left with the manufacturer you get that as well. I believe they are all tested, but with electronics things do break. However if you are unlucky enough to get a faulty one just return it for a refund or exchange.

I bought a b-grade motherboard which had the board only. OcUK were incredibly helpful with sourcing an I/O shield from ASUS which took a week or 2 to get.

I would recommend calling them to confirm what the package is missing as they will accommodate anyway they can to assist.

I've contacted Gigabyte in the past regarding the price and availability of an I/O shield. They replied very quickly and told me to send a prepaid envelope to them. I soon received it in the post free of charge. Only cost 2x postage and 2x envelopes

As others have said - b-grade mobo's are fine (missing i/o shields can but got a number of ways)
I've had 3 or 4 b-grade mobo's from OcUK only one was doa and it was refunded without issue.

Just tried this and they said they couldn't help and had no idea unfortunately :(

Mobo was half price (a mega saving) so I took the plunge anyway, can always return it again if no good.

Yeah worse case hawkhench send it back. Im sure it will be fine.

Ive had a few b-grade items over the years, some good savings sometimes.

i ordered the gigabyte z87x-oc board this morning at half price b grade just awaiting oc to call back to see if i/o shield is included, not too fussy either way as cs said if its not they could get one direct from gigabyte. heres hoping the board turns out to be a bargain.

thnx to everyone who replied seems like ocuk might have some real bargains in the b grade section
