B grades

Does not matter if it was registered or not, the warranty goes by the cards serial number. EVGA warranty begins from the date the product is shipped from the EVGA warehouse.

I dont know if this helps but I bought a b grade gigabyte motherboard and a quick email to there cs confirmed they too only go by the serial numbers and not the owner and I would be able to RMA if need be

I severely doubt one wouldn't be able to register the serial number and obtain the balance (or full warranty from the manufacturer). If you couldn't do that, it would make buying B-grades worse than buying used/second hand items which I don't think is the case.

My own experience with EVGA RMA is that they honour the warranty based on serial. If you have a valid receipt that proves you are the current owner you are covered.

From memory MSI also base warranty on serial.

There was a question about this recently on a today-only thread where Gibbo confirmed that in some cases it is in fact only the 90 day warranty that is valid, as advertised. You might get lucky and be able to make use of the balance of the original manufacturer warranty, but this is not guaranteed.

EVGA's warranty is transferable so even if it was registered before you should be able to set it up for yourself. You use a guest account or something like that to do it.

Hi

I noticed they have 10+ B Grade** Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce 3x "GHz Editions was looking to add another for sli maybe but have never bought a B Grade one before.

Are they worth a punt or what are these customer returns

I expect they're refurbs sent to OcuK from Gigabyte. I expect OcuK sent back 10 faulty cards to Gigabyte and received these in return...or something to that effect.

From the Gigabyte UK site for both Warranty and Warranty terms:

"Graphics Card: Please contact the location where the original order was placed."

Oh i see damn what to do what to do :) i can get a new kfa2 780 for £320 or take a punt on one of these :)

It would be really good if someone from OcUK could confirm for sure what the status of B Grade items is. I understand that they provide a 90 day warranty directly with OcUK, as per the item descriptions, but it is a little unclear as to whether the cards are still covered by the remainder of the warranty with the manufacturer.

See these posts from Gibbo recently:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=26207126&postcount=33

And one of the the threads that was linked to that does suggest the balance of the manufacturer warranty should be honoured: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=22877941&postcount=3

I'd be tempted by the Gigabyte 780 GHz if we could get some clarification.

See my post above

I did, but I suspect most manufacturers would say the same in the first instance. I have however dealt with Gigabyte directly when the retailer (not OcUK) for a motherboard was unhelpful.

If the warranty is literally just the 90 days with OcUK directly, then you'd be better off finding a second hand card with a receipt for similar (or maybe less) money.

Hi, cases like this get treaded like normal second hand purchase.
As you do not have the originally invoice in this case we will take the date the card did left our warehouse. With products like classi cards this is mostly close to the originally purchase.... When the card is registered in your account you can then open the guest RMA section and it will tell you exactly how much warranty is left with this product
