Inspired somewhat by this thread, and fond reminiscing of such classics as "The Legend of Boggy Creek", "Snowbeast", "Creature From Black Lake", "Alligator" and many others, I'm looking for suggestions on others of the same (low) calibre.

First off, yes, that was a rather long sentence. Secondly, they can be from any decade, and of any (ahem) quality. I've recently seen "Attack of the Beast Creatures", "Rogue" and "Primeval" (the latter two actually having decent budgets and casts).

The creatures in question can be anything, from aardvarks (preferably of the mutant variety) to zombies, and anything in between; bigfoots (bigfeet?), crocs, sharks, apes, werewolves, lawyers, whatever.

Thanks in advance ;)

Creature Features are my bread and butter - can't get enough of them.

Off the top of my head, some good, some bad, some downright terrible :

The Deadly Spawn (you have to see this).
Piranha.
Nightbeast.
The Relic.
Deep Space.
The Blob (remake is fantastic).
The Monster Squad.
Slither.
Night of the Creeps (total classic).
Invaders from Mars.
Shadowzone.
Castle Freak.
The Thing.
The Descent.
The Gate.
The Gate II.
The Lamp (aka The Outing).
The Fly.
The Fly II.
Prophecy.
The Burrowers.

Could think of more later when I have more time.

Ever thought of checking out older stuff like Creature from the Black Lagoon or The Quatermass Xperiment?

Yeah, I have a few golden oldies lying around too :D

Frankenfish is disasterously brilliant.

Ha ha, I was looking for the name of this movie - caught the tail (no pun intended) end of it one night on the Sci-Fi channel, but couldn't for the life of me remember the name - so thanks for that. It looks like it will fit the bill :)

Within the rock.

That one actually had a very cool monster and decent attack scenes, but was a B-movie through and through.

I also remembered one of my faves from the 80s, "The Nest". Nice and gooey.

Also, "Killer Klowns from Outer Space".

"Frankenfish" was quite acceptable too. Nothing great, but very entertaining nonetheless.

Forgot to mention "Demons" and "Demons 2" - the original is one of my favourite Euro-shock flicks.

"Fear of the Dark" is surprisingly decent for what is essentially a kids' movie.

Frank Hennenlotter's "Basket Case" and "Brain Damage". His newest one "Bad Biology" isn't particularly good but has to be seen to be believed.

"Creepshow" - the first segment with the monster in the crate.

"Proteus" is pretty bad - featuring a mutant, shape-shifting heroin-addicted shark-thing as the monster.

"Virus" (90's movie I think with Jamie Lee Curtis) is worth a watch (if only to watch Donald Sutherland bite chunks out of the scenery).

Going to stop there for now again before I have a monster-movie-mind-melt.

EDIT : Just thought of "Leviathan" - a pretty great monster flick that one! AAARGH, NO MORE!

Some nice recommendations there fellas (especially Pestilence). Have a few titles now to munch through, but by all means, keep the recommendations coming.

In fact, every movie/entertainment forum needs a monster movie thread, so lets keep this going :D
