Tried B&Q once and they said they don't cut MDF wood (25mm window board) , was baffled by it he said the saws would get damaged try a timbers yard.
Local Timbers yard told me they they don't offer a cutting service.
Went home with a saw I bought from poundwise for £1 and cut it myself in 5 minutes.
Homebase offer a cutting service for kitchen work tops btw, I am unsure what you need cutting but 38mm is similar to work tops just in case it is. But if homebase do 38mm kitchen work tops worth a shot !
