Hey chaps, just got back from a field trip to Istanbul and have a couple of rolls of B+W film to process.

Does anyone have any recommendations for processing? Ideally looking for somewhere cheap that will scan to CD and have the negatives back by thursday (21st) so ideally a 24 hour place I guess. If there isn't enough time then I guess I'll wing them off to jessops as they're only £8.50 a film for develop+scan at high res but it takes 7-10 days.

if its a c-41 film process then you can have it the same day. If it has to be sent of then you are looking at a week turnaround.

You cant get B&W C41 films.

B&W films takes more time for places to develop as each film, ISO settings and developer used will require a different amount of time developing it, unlike colour C41 film which has a 1 method fits all approach. That is why all high street places will need to send off B&W films to be processed as they cant do them in store with their machines.

I do B&W processing and scanning myself, very easy and rather fun to do. Would offer to do yours but I cant bear the guilt of ruining someone's holiday snaps :p

I generally use Metro imaging in London (who do a postal service), very good for processing but very expensive for scanning (So I do that bit myself and just get negatives and contact prints from them). They are excellent if you take it seriously but are maybe not worth it unless you expect good shots.

What film did you use?

Cheers guys, film was HP5.

I do have chemicals and a developing tank at home but they're a bit out of date and I don't want to risk ruining the negs as they're going to become part of my uni work:)

I sent the films off to ilford today as they were pretty certain they could get them back by thursday. Not cheap either though... I probably just need to invest in a film scanner! Anyone got one going spare?:D

Hehe, well a quick google tells me that's fairly pricey! But if you're willing to let it go for a bargain student price then feel free to PM me!
