I kept the bios up to date most of the time as sometimes they make some fixes but i could never run my Crucial Ballistix BL2K16G32C16U4R 3200 with xmp for 3200hz which it was rated for and this ram was recommended.
Xmp would cause the board to go in a boot loop until it reset itself. I had to get around this with manual timings set to about 3000.
I sold the ram and moved to CORSAIR CMK64GX4M2E3200C16 VENGEANCE LPX 64GB and again had to set manual timings which seemed stable.
I added another identical kit as i do video work now and make music and windows was bluescreening more and again had to set manual timings for 2666Mhz to get it work.
I was on bios F18b from september 2024 and the bios was laggy.
I thought my system was slow recently and checked my mem frequencies and discovered to my horror that it was running at 2133mhz. It must have reset somewhere without me knowing.
I could not get Gigabytes bios app to flash the latest F18g from a file so updated within bios.
I went down to 2 sticks to troubleshoot and clicked xmp for giggles, and it worked. Now running 3200mhz and the system is a lot faster.
I have just tried all 4 sticks at xmp..and it`s working fine. Perhaps the bios was faulty i was running or they fixed something in the newest one.
Maybe it might help you, just thought i`d share.
I swapped out a Corsair750 psu for an 850w recently,coincidence? hmm
