B550 Motherboard for overclocking a 3600?

Planning on doing my first build with a 3600 and I'd like to eventually try to overclock it.

I've planned some very reasonable cooling (be quiet 500DX case with 5 x Arctic fans) but now looking for the right motherboard to pair it with.

I don't have special requirements in terms of extras (2 SIMM slots is fine, don't really need wifi, etc) but I've been following this tier list https://linustechtips.com/topic/1137619-motherboard-vrm-tier-list-v2-currently-amd-only/ and I'm afraid I don't even know what most of these turms mean when it comes to a motherboard... VRM? Amperage?

This is a pretty decent board for the price, can overclock no problem and will allow you to upgrade to a 5000 series CPU in the future.

I'd recomend setting around 1.3v and see if you can get up to 4.4+ all core OC which should give a nice boost as the 3600 only has a single core boost of around 4.2 at stock, would definitely get a cooler although even something like an SE 224XT or arctic freezer 34 would be plenty so no need to spend more than £30

R5 3600 is essentially a boost processor much like an Intel non K I7 8700 or I5 9400/10400. You get what you get. What's actually needed is a decent mobo and a decent aftermarket CPU heatsink to get sustained rated boost clocks in the area of 4.2 ghz consistently anything above that is asking for a bit of trouble with heat and vcore with overall computer stability not being great. So yeah it's not worth it.

Out of those 3 I'd go for the Aorus V2.

If your not bothered about PCIe gen 4.0 then the £92 B450 tomahawk max is a good option, I had one running a 3600 for a year and it's now running a 5800X without breaking a sweat.
