I've posted this on the customer service technical support page as I might ask for a replacement board. Still within the first 30 days of purchase. A lot really good technical expertise on the forums so I would appreciate the feedback if these look like actual issues with the board.

  • Both 5v Addressable RGB inputs are not working. Only the top one on the board I think is JRAINBOW2 kind of intermittently works. Multiple reboots and unplugging/re plugging the cable back in the motherboard before the LEDs will light up on the fans. I've never been able to get the LED lights to display when using JRAINBOW1.
  • Even when the LED lights on the fans do light up, the MSI software has zero effect on this. It worked day 1 for maybe 4-5 hours. Since then it just reboots to either default light configuration on the Fans or nothing at all.
  • Cannot boot into BIOS using a display port. I need to connect a HDMI cable to get into the BIOS Screen.
  • Ethernet cable has been losing connection intermittently but this is actually increasing. At first I thought there might be a conflict with the Dragon suite Software and the ethernet ports. Some info online regarding this. So I did a complete fresh install of Windows last night and haven't re-installed the Dragon Suite software yet. Ethernet cable continues to randomly disconnect. Both LED lights switch off for a short time on the ethernet port. This is happening on both the 2.5gb and 1gb port.
The above issue with the ethernet port. I would expect one of the LED lights to remain on to show that a connection with the router is still being maintained. Even if the internet is down. I also tested running ping plotter using the same ethernet cable for a good 2-3 hours on my work Laptop and could not reproduce the same results.

I will include the BQM graph at the end of this thread. Which will show a complete disconnect at around 12:30am. Our internet did go down then for a short while but I am seeing multiple disconnects throughout a gaming session that are not being picked up on the BQM graph and are not being re-produced when testing with a Laptop. I'll take a spare network cable from work today to have both deviced plugged in through Ethernet to completely rule out the cable being an issue.

Motherboard is updated to the latest BIOS version.

Although I was using the latest drivers listed on the MSI page for the ethernet ports. This morning I've gone to the reaktek site and downloaded a newer driver. I've left this running at home with ping plotter connection to see if the issue continues.

What cpu cooler are you using Is it to tight flexing the board ?

Check for any misaligned pins on the cpu.

Get it sent back before the 30 days.

To rule things in or out.

A flexing motherboard can cause lots of problems and it doesn't take much to check the cpu pins.

Ordered CPU cleaning kit and more thermal paste as this will need re-done if I check the CPU. Although I checked the pins when installing as it was a brand new CPU. Everything looked in place and I had zero issue fitting the CPU. Sat right into the slot without any movement required.

I'll take a look at the board when I get back for flexing but the again the board installed nicely. Slotted into place on the risers and didn't have any difficulty with the screw mounts.

14 days straight swap , hoping 30 days would still be swap but have to ask .

Guessing your running Corsair parts ? If not try Aorus Elite . Least you'll have a customer service to speak to outside reseller

Just to update. Got a replacement board and all is working. Well except for BIOS through display port lol. My RGB go faster LEDs are all working now though :D In fact I think there is a LED on the motherboard that was never showing on the previous board.

its a shame by now that boards don't have a self diagnosis function or is that not possible
Some boards do have led fault lights or codes but a faulty motherboard can fail at any point in the start-up check procedure

For example it could fail at the gpu check but a code would first point to the gpu but the motherboard fails at that point.

4 diagnostic leds in most cases is good enough to diagnose what is wrong..
this board has EZ Debug..
if the board itself is faulty you will not be able to know.. its faulty after all .. how can it diagnose itself
