Hi
I'm building my first pc in a long time . I can get the system to post but only with 1 stick of the DDR 5 ram in there. Just sits on yellow light with 2.

Both sticks work alone in slot A2. Should they work alone in B2? With anything B2 it will not start

The ram is Corsair vengeance and unfortunately I have just discovered it is not on the Asus compatible list.

I've updated bios to 0821 bit still no joy.

More ram ordered to test but any other hints or tips would be great. I assume any manual bios settings wouldn't make a difference.
Thanks

Manual says A2 for single dimm (2nd from CPU), A2 & B2 for two dimm (furthest from CPU).

Have you tried contacting Asus & Corsair? What model number is the RAM?

Did you try increasing the RAM voltage with one stick and then adding the second? How long do you wait for it to boot?

The Ram is CMH32GX5M2B5600Z36K

Though it isn't on the site it may just be because I have the RGB variant

Haven't had a chance to contact anyone yet.just built today.

I have noticed in the bios a conflict even with 1 stick

Information says 16gb DDR5 5600MHz
But dram status says Corsair 16gb 4800MHz

What would you recommend as a voltage increase? Just step up slow?

The voltage the manufacturer recommends, I think it is 1.25 for your sticks. We've seen it a couple of times on here where the RAM doesn't work stably at 4800 @ 1.1v, which is strange (since it is a JEDEC spec).

The conflict is probably normal, gaming memory usually boots at 4800 and requires XMP (or in your case, EXPO) profile to be enabled.

Make sure you give it plenty of time to boot too.

I have the same RAM in a B650E-E. It will show 4800 until you set EXPO or D.O.C.P(XMP), Click the EXPO button on the main page in the BIOS. I would update the BIOS using flashback, if you have not done so, new version is 821, think. The first boot takes a few minutes to sort the RAM out.

Yeah I've played around a bit. 1 stick is fine, it adopts the EXPO settings and will post just fine. As soon as I put the other stick in B2 it will start with yellow light but then restart on its own after about 30 seconds and just sit at yellow light.
That's it until I remove the stick in B2 again.

I've ordered some Kingston sticks. Will get In touch with Asus, I'm on 821 and have flashed it twice.
Hopefully it's not the main board

Could it be an overly tightened cooler? On rare occasions an overly tightened cooler can sometimes cause weird issues, often with RAM due to the bending of the board. Could try loosening off the cooler a bit and then reseat the RAM. Could also be a case of the CPU needing reseating also?

Might be worth a try?

Thanks guys, gave everything a go and reseated CPU. Still no luck.

I'm just on a noctua heatsink and installed as per instructions loosened off a bit too.

Had a good inspection of pins and dimm slots and all seems ok. Guess I'll wait on the compatable dimms and see how it goes. It would probably be the first thing Asus ask me to try as per their QandA

also leave it switched on for like 5 mnins
it trains the memory

then switch it off and back on again
but do 1 stick in slot 2

It was bent pins on the motherboard, I don't think it was me but you don't have a leg to stand on even if it's delivered like that.

Sent back for free repair. I sold it to a mate and he's using it now with no problems

Thank you very much for your answer. I checked by board and indeed the socket had 2 missing (?) pins. I suppose they got pushed through the surface when I attached the cooler. I'll try to get a replacement.
