How exactly do the BA tier points work? I'm close to obtaining Silver but not sure if it's worth it as my memership year expires in Aug 09. Does that mean that in September I'll be downgraded back to blue?

If so, I'm sure that sucks royally as Virgin's Flying Club operates a rolling 13-month period so you just have to ensure you fly enough throughout the year, rather than being reset at a specific point in the year. I think?

Am I understanding this right? Ridiculous flight sales on at the moment so just trying to figure out what to do! Thanks for anyone who knows :)

Well that makes the whole thing pointless then doesn't it. How odd. So it's only really useful for people regularly flying an awful lot otherwise by the time you gain Silver you lose it a few months later!

Just thought it might be handy since although I only cross the atlantic a couple of times a year, for a while I'll be flying to Europe quite a bit so the lounge access would've been nice.

Oh well :(

I'm not a massive fan of BA but they've always been helpful for me and miraculously haven't lost any of my bags yet, and they fly everywhere which is useful.

Thanks for that flyer forum link, there was me figuring out how to get 600 TPs for less than £2k and people there have it for £400 by travelling across america with AA. My god they're ingenious! I shall perhaps do this when my next membership year starts as I want to do a cross-america trip :)
