Suffered these vermin for years - I live next to a number of farms and we seem to get infested - Door open an hour on a night and the room just fills.

One of the pesky blighters has crawled into the vents on my ROG Swift and been crawling around beneath the screen for days around various parts of the monitor. I tried squashing it when it had gone out of sight of the viewable area, but it came back time and time again. Has now decided to die on the middle left of the screen.

Second monitor this has happened to, but really peeved at it happening to this particular one because of the cost of it and now I have a dirty dead fly making a mark.

Anyone successfully found a way of dealing with these? I am guessing a strip down will void my warranty and guessing Asus wont be interested in helping?

Someone on here suggested using a suction cup to move it, not sure how successful they were.

Are they attracted to light at all? If so, point a light through the vents of your ROG Swift at nights and hope they die around the back of your monitor.

Not sure how the logistics of using a suction cup would work? Assume to apply outward pressure to the screen and try to slide it across?

Cant see it being powerful enough and probably end up scratching the screen knowing my luck!

Yeah they are attracted to light - They all collect around the light fittings and monitors. Not a bad idea re the bulb thanks.

I think I will just have to grin and bear it then once the warranty runs out i will strip it down and get it out that way.

I'm not sure either, I'd hate to take a suction cup to a monitor, but I'm guessing what you described is what they were on about.
