I'm back on the forums as I'm building myself a htpc. My last build was a good few years ago. To give you an idea the build was a q6600 on an abit ip35 with one 120gb SSD & one 500gb 3.5in spinner! All built into a thermaltake armour jnr. Case. Graphics wise I had an Asus gtx460. Before that it was an evga but I can't remember which model!!
Fast forward a few years and I'm currently getting together the bits for an htpc. I stopped using my old rig so much mainly because it was out of the way in another room, (nice for me but my missus wasn't so keen!) with sky costing a fortune and Netflix etc being used more & more I thought an htpc with gaming capabilities was the way to go. MOBO: Asus z97i plus mini itx
CPU: i5 4690k
RAM: 16gb ddr3 Hyperx fury
SSD: 256gb Samsung m.2 2280
HHD: 3Tb WD Green
Still Need to get a slot loading blu Ray drive, windows 10, keys & mouse (wireless) and a graphics card. At the moment I'm thinking about a Asus gtx960 4gb.
Anyway just thought I'd say hi and see if anyone had any suggestions with my new build and what people think. It's not top end I know but strikes the balance between good enough and cost.
