Hi all

Well, its been a while since I last posted and did any mods on my ASUS p5n-mx.

Current spec on my machine now is as follows

1) E2180 intel duo core (stock 2.0ghz) now overclocked to "2.8GHz) (40%)

2) Thermaltake Key 3 spirit (copper base and copper pipping,with aluminium fins - from base to tip is 8 inch)
when I bought this it had "machine" grooves in the copper base, which I found by sanding out thee machined grooves it decreased heat by a further 0.3 C)

3)akasa 120mm (rear exhaust) - sitting less than 1 inch away from the heatsink

4) 2x Thermaltake 80mm fans - side and front (induction/puling) air in, blowing over the hard drives, ram,graphics card, heatsink and board.

5) 500w Icute PSU (not the best by any means, but a huge improvement over the previous PSU) - also has a 140cm fan fitted, pulling hot air from the heatsink and the PSU PCB out of the back.)

6)1x 250gb hitachi hard drive( bought when I first built this back in 2007) 1x Western digital 2TB green caviar. and both are filled :lol:

7) Patriot 800mhz 2gb ram stick - 1x kingston 1gb 800mhz ram stick (my 2nd patriot failed and replaced with a kingston as a "temp" fix).

8) stock 2.0ghz 100% CPU/MEM load temps
"Core 1/core 2 = 19C
CPU = 19c
motherboard = 21c
GPU = 38

9) spec now overclocked

(some of the readouts above a little pessimistic :lol:- voltage core is pretty much correct though

the TJmax is 73.3c - maybe the cooling is a tad over kill :lol:

- from the specs above, any chance of being able to obtain an OC of 3.0ghz?

Thanks in advance

P.s Lashout Uk - is that a dolly sprint or 1850?
looks tidy from your sig - I had a 79 1300 in pageant blue up until a few weeks ago

exactly what I was thinking, this forum is like a bone yard! It wasn't this quiet before I left :confused:

if anyone could suggest a way I could possibly OC my machine to 3.0ghz (currently at 2.8ghz- stable) (with a factory ratio of 5:4). I've tried 3.0ghz with various different DDR FSB clocks and QDR clock fsb settings, but wasn't stable enough (BSOD).

any suggestions..... anybody?

Thanks in advance
