we just got back from a short break in Rome and it's been excellent. can't say a bad word about this place - every bit of the experience has been spot on. in just a few days there are a whole number of experiences (or moments) that have happened while I've been with Sarah. Seeing the architecture of the various buildings, some of the famous relics and art (Michaelangelo's genius is worth the trip alone) was probably the main attraction to the place for me. But there is a lot more to indulge in.

for the euros we paid, dining out day or night, never dissapointed. Italian food just rocks. The open-air atmosphere around the town when everyones eating and running about doing all sorts, is really cool. It's like a mix of a million things going on everywhere. It's completely bonkers but it works and a makes terrific atmosphere to chill out.

anyway, I uploaded a few images that are presentable right now. Need to work on the images I took inside St.Peters because my cam is really poor and I had to do my best to get images inside with such lighting conditions. So, I'll be editing those.

Rome Pics

if you do look at the pics, be sure to check out some of the completely insane signs! I love them! 'Computer Friend'! 'Fantasy Sandwich'!

i love the sigh of the guy falling down the stairs :p

Looks like an awsome place to go!

i started grinning at the sign whilst in a moving queue going through the Vatican Museum. snapped the pic as quickly as possible as I was passing the sign. As such completely disregarded the signs real purpose and actually lost my balance a bit on the stairs. bit of a reality check, and definitely an ironic moment of embarassment.

I went last December and loved it aswell. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great city break. the only thing i was disappointed with was that i didn't get to the see the pathenoe (sp?). But it was awesome and italian food is more awesome than chinese

Pantheon was good but it was definitely a secondary (if we had time) for us. The architecture of the building is impressive. It's situated in a nice square, we ate there for lunch. Good excuse to go back? ;)

Hey,

I went with N3crius on the trip :)

We stayed at Hotel Diplomatic. It was £200 for 3 nights, its a good 3 star, nice breakfast and great location for everything. It was about the cheapest middle of the range nice looking hotel i could find. We walked to everything, and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you all the way to the colleseum (the number 87) for a euro (or free on a Saturday).

If you go on tripadvisor, or venere.com they have reviews on this hotel. I only ever saw one bad review out of hundreds of good ones for this hotel, would really recommend it.

Have a good time!

Sarah
