Back heel penalty

Because they lost 7-2 and have no recourse but to revert to thuggish behaviour. Or is that just what happens in england? Seriously i blame the keeper for being awful.

care to explain why ?

It's completely unprofessional and footballers, like rugby players and american football players, don't take kindly to it. Using a bit of skill/ingenuity to make something happen is one thing, rubbing the other teams nose in it is going to get you hurt. It's not right but its what happens in those kinds of competitive sport.

That's why the manager was so furious and he'll probably get told off from his football association. That he scored isn't even relevant.

How is this any different from those chip penalties that go wrong all the time? Complete overreaction from everyone *shakes head*.

comments above remind me a little of Nani vs Arsenal in the FA Cup (I think) a few seasons ago (admittedly this was in open play rather than with a penalty)

Saying that, Im surprised a back heal at a penalty is actually allowed given how the rules stipulate a consistant run-up etc etc (but it IS the goalie's fault for being so awful also)

On a particular day certain players (who dont always show it) are completely unplayable - as a sportsman you need to learn to take the rough with the smooth

you guys are over reacting a bit much on 2 different accounts.

the GK was clearly going to dive to the right, in a penalty situation, most keepers dive slightly before the ball has even started moving. pick a direction and stick with it, when he saw the guy turn around, he got confused and stopped moving to the right and tried to stand up straight, but by the time he knew what was going on it was too late and he had already moved too much to the right.

also it's show boating, people do it all the time, adebayor running the whole pitch to rub it in to arsenal fans? phil neville inciting rival fans, etc. it happens all the time, if the other team dont like being ridiculed, they should up their game or quit. what about when andy murray plays shots through his legs? exact same thing.

I think you meant his brother Gary :)

Because a chip penalty is usually meant to trick a goalie into diving one way whilst slotting it down the middle, doesn't always work but at least they're trying to score. Turning your back on goal and rolling it in just shows you don't care and lacks respect.

He may have been practicing this for weeks; who knows. It went in didn't it? Can't have been too bad.

Like I said, total over reaction.

Awesome.

Guy clearly has a lot of confidence to try that :p would have looked so daft if it hadn't gone in.
