These drives operate fine on SATA2 giving around 285MB/s read speed.

That is what I said. The only thing I added is that if you have only got Sata II you really should be looking at the OCZ Vertex 2 as that gives a 285 Mbps reads and 235 writes and it comes with the 2.5" to 3.5" bracket bringing the price difference to almost nothing.

True but the Crucial is more future proof as if and when they did upgrade their motherboards there SSD will also get a performance boost.

If it was my money I'd get the Crucial, but we sell them all and do so very well, its just for my rig if I had one Crucial it would be.
