Hello everyone,
My last PC had Geforce 8800GT and Intel E7200, so it's been a while...

I'm looking to buy a new PC, just for gaming, but I haven't really been following the trends for a long time. After reading some reviews and lots of threads here, I came up with this:

Total: £1,441.63

I'm just looking for a good gaming experience, don't feel like trying to overclock anything.

Would this work together? Would you change anything? Except the CPU and GPU I am just following advice from here.

Also any recommendations for a 27inch / 1440p monitor, please? Nothing high end.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would swap the 3700X for a 3600. Saves £100. The 3700X is better, but as you've been out the game 12 years you will find this stupidly fast anyway.
You can get a cheaper case if you like, but that is all personal preference.

I would not buy a 2070S for £520. The current GPU line-up is 2 years old and is due a replacement later this year. Looking at graphics cards, they have all gone up significantly in price.
I would get a used graphics card on Ebay for £100-200 then spank £400 + your old card resale on an Nvidia 3070 (or whatever they are called) when they come out (little information has been released other than they are due late 2020).

VA panel monitors with best of LCDs contrast/black (but some challenges in response times) for best looking image in dark room start from £260 but are mostly £300+.

If not wanting to upgrade CPU in near future, it doesn't make sense to buy lower CPU than what consoles have in Chritmas.

And the way you guys keep declaring your creed Nvidia will charge arm, both legs and buttrape also in future.
You shouldn't be making any decisions until knowing the market situation.
Though can't see AMD wanting to push prices down agressively in next-gen cards with your "Please rape&rob us Nvidia!" declaring.

I'm not pro Nvidia at all, my point was focussing on >£500 for a 2070S is madness given the new generation coming in the medium term.
