Hi all
Have been out of the PC scene for along time (been stuck in RL...boooo) and starting to find my old enthusiasm for gaming again.

Anyway current old set up it ok conssiting mainly of
ASUS Z87 M6 IMPACT s1150 MoBo
Intel Core i5 4670K
250GB SSung 840 EVO SSD
530W BeQuiet PSU
Lain Li case
Acer Predator XB281HK - 28" LED Monitor
ect ect

My current GPU is
MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC
However I seem to having some issue with artifacts on the screen and the screen glitching all the time. It also makes an audiable clicking noise when it does it out fo the speakers.

I have changed the monitor over and tried a new Mini Display Port (thats what I use for the higher frame rates as I understand HDMI can handle 144hz).

So my feeling is the GPU is playing up. WHat would be the cheapest new GPU that would be as good (if not better) As cheap as possible or even and older EOL model would do the job
Thanks

Unfortunately, the GPU market at present is the worst I've ever known it to be, items are so ridiculously expensive. I assume there's no warranty left on the card? Unlikely I know, but I thought it best to check.

I think the best you'll be able to do will be to go for something like a GTX1060. If you don't require more memory than the last card then I guess you could consider the 3GB variant, which will make it a fair bit cheaper.

AMD have the RX 470 and 570 cards, but some of those cards cost more than the GTX1060 and are slower.

Here's a couple of examples:

GTX1060 3GB - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kfa2...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-097-kf.html

GTX1060 6GB - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-32z-ms.html

Here's a rough guide as to the difference in performance between the 280X and GTX1060:

6GB - http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-R9-280X-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB/2192vs3639

Personally, in your shoes, I'd probably still take the time to consider a second-hand card. You never know, you may get lucky. Good luck. :)
