Back light bleed. How much is too much?

Hi guys,

Received my new monitor yesterday and I have noticed what I believe to be backlight bleed.

Not the best picture but would this be classed as faulty? Or is it just to be expected on a TN panel?

Thanks

Depends on at what point it bothers you - I've some BLB on my monitor, but it only becomes apparent if a movie goes to a black screen or the same in a game, it's not enough to bother me but the same screen might drive someone else crazy :)

Pretty much comes down to you own pinion - are you noticing yourself being distracted by it more often than not?

To be honest that's just a terrible photo (no offence :)) so people on here can't really objectively comment or advise based on that.

The whole screen appears to be one big backlight bleed! It's no doubt at a ridiculous high ISO and really slow shutter speed, which in a very/ totally dark room makes any monitor look terrible.

As others say though, it depends how much it bothers you. I personally am an image snob/ quite ocd about such things, so 1 tiny stuck pixel, or any backlight bleed is too much for me.

Seriously, that photo makes no sense. Take a shot with a real camera (not a smartphone or a frame from a videocamera), shoot it perpendicularly to the center of the screen and balance it in a way that the most part of the screen is black

So, visual correction applied, monitor looks perfect to me :o
