Random question.... I'd love to put a white LED behind the Mobo edges on my pc, i've kinda seen it be done on one of the pc's from the case gallery. Anyways... could it be done and if so what light would you recommend i fit behind? ?

I ended up buying some in "bulk" from a website I found in Holland, it still wasn't cheap but it was much cheaper than the LED strips you can buy from PC hardware sellers. They charge a massive premium for them.

Downside is you need to be able to do some soldering to connect up all the cables if you buy them the way I did, but beyond that they are much easier to work with than cathodes as they are thinner, bendy and don't have a converter to hide in the case either.

Oh the LED strip I have underneath my motherboard has the LEDs in the side of the strip at a 90 degree angle, so they are pointing between the motherboard and motherboard tray (rather than just shining straight up onto the back of the motherboard). If you are after a similar effect to mine (I assume you are after getting your email) then keep that in mind :).

kk thanks for the replies.... Defo stick it to the mobo tray yes>?

If i cut the strip, is it easy to fit a connection to it?

I pulled my motherboard out and stuck it to the motherboard tray yeah.

With the stuff I was using you could cut the strip every 3 LEDs and there are places to solder some your wires to, it is marked quite clearly. Once you have cut your desired length you will need to carefully cut the plastic overcoat over the connection points (terminals?) on the LED strip off. Then you just solder your wires to the + and - terminals.

I then hooked those wires up to some molex connectors and that was that sorted :). Just make sure you hook them up correctly!
