My Kraken is running on a LGA2011-3 Intel board and just about to goto Ryzen and a x570 board.

Whats the deal with the backplate to mount my Kraken on AM4, do I just unscrew the plastic clips on new board and install the screw mounts from my LGA2011 board? Cant cant remember if i need a metal back plate or something.

AM4 boards come with their own backplate to support CPU coolers.
Motherboards with screw attached stock HSF mounting frame have that.

It's mounting parts of CPU block which might not support AM4's screw spacing, if you bought that cooler many years ago and it doesn't use stock HSF mounting method.

I used the cooler originally with my first Ryzen 1800x setup so it should fit just wanted to know if the standard back plate would be ok on the new board.
