Morning all, its been a very long time since I have frequented these forums (circa 2011) and I have not been into PC gaming much since then. But I am looking to get a new build on the go, I have clocked a few posts saying that there's some new hardware coming out soon so can expect prices to come down.

Previously I was always buying Intel CPU & Nvidia GPU, but thats not a preference for the new build. I literally have zero ideal of the state of the hardware now, whats hot, whats not etc.

I don't need a case as I have a Antec P180 that is more that good enough, unless something drastic has changed. But everything else with the old system was built around 2010 (according to my account my last orders from here GTX460 & Asus Xonar D1 7.1).

I am looking to try and keep it "budget" as I am only a casual gamer now, but will be getting back into CS:GO, and want it to be able to handle newer games (COD, LOL, Forza, Apex). Don't require any peripherals.

Looking to spend no more than 700-800, if a solid gaming PC can be done cheaper with the potential of prices dropping soon then even better.

TIA

New Zen2 Ryzens will be released in Sunday.

Would recommend 6 core/12 thread Zen2 if you want PC to last longer without upgrades.
Those threads will get stressed more in couple years by more demanding multiplatter games.
Unlike old consoles which came with tablet CPU to start with already as new, next-gen consoles are coming with Zen2 based CPU in year or so.

MSI has B450 motherboards with OK level CPU VRM and whose BIOS can be updated without CPU.

For graphics card I think RX580/Vega 56 would have best bang per buck. (about £200 and £250 level)

I assume you have HDD or two you could keep and SSD would work.
This would be cheapest half TB drive to fit newer games without filling up soon.

SSD will improve Windows and general use experience lots besides making good difference to game loading times.

For PSU would suggest Bitfenix Formula.
This B-stock would be pretty good value:

If you haven't done it already to case, you could modify those plastic grilles in front of dust filters to increase airflow.
At default they're pretty awful in their design and major airflow impedance with those narrow slits.
Or you could just remove them, because they're behind door.

If you have access to Dremel or similar, next thing would be opening that stamped mesh.
Half of intake airflow is into place with small minority of PC's heat output, so would want to minimize airflow impedance to get more cooling for CPU and GPU.
Using also top exhaust position and opening those holes between chambers could increase airflow.
Arctic P12 fans are very good bang for buck choise.
