Hey,

I'm considering buying a macbook pro 15 for uni and I noticed theres this 'back to school' offer on.. now I read somewhere people are getting an ipod touch and selling it on ebay but the rebate is just for £130 and the cheapest touch is £152 and thats the last generation slow 8gb model.. a quick ebay search shows them going for a whopping £90-100 .. so is it worth doing if you don't plan on keeping it? Can anyone give me there experience with this deal, I don't quite understand why apple are saying "Purchase a Mac and get an iPod." because unless I'm missing something you have to shell out £20 for either a nano or a touch..

It is very cleverly worded. 'Buy a Mac for your studies and an iPod touch can be yours'. Written like that, they could get away with selling them full price :p
What they do is cover all of the non-VAT value of the iPod, so that extra you pay is essentially just tax. Obviously if you're not going to use it there's no harm in selling it, but when you take into account the £20 loss after the rebate, and overall gain of £40-£70 might not warranty the sale. Up to you really.
