Back to the PS2, what have I missed?

Right, just can't justify buying a next gen console as I've just bought a car, spending shed loads on it and I rarely play games these days.
Still, I want to have something to keep me amused occasionaly and so I'm off to retrieve my PS2 from my mums place soon.

Haven't played with it in about 2 years, what do I need to get??

To help, I love the GT games and will probably spend forever on GT4 anyway. Loved the GTA games and really enjoyed Fight Night. Advise away

I cant see theres much price difference between the ps2 and 360 core system now, arent they going for 150 and the games is what really costs with prices being similar ?

If you go ps2, dont forget 'black' which is only on ps2 & xbox

where are they selling them for 150 :O

a supermarket was selling the slim ones for 50 quid last week

i believe the rrp is 90 or 100

ive found the games are really cheap even on the high street especially pre owned

theres so many awesome games its almost criminal not to own one ,especilaly when games are still getting released

I typed '360 core £150' into google and got a few results, it was just a temporary reduction apparently.
The ps2 will be cheaper, Im just not sure its worth the saving any more. I'd buy something like the dreamcast and really save money if I was going to do that I think.

Doh just noticed you allready knew about black. Still I'll be watching what those guys release next, very impressive.

Really not my bag I'm afraid, even when I'm lashed. But have to say nice one on the choice of car, just got a Gen 6 myself and with a few tweaks here and there it's gonna be amazing

If you like action games nothing beats God of War. The sequel comes out soon and looks even better.

Another vote for guitar hero if you like your rock music.

Go for GH1 rather than 2 if you've never played it, track list is much better.

Never played god of war but heard great things and the previews of the second one do look exceptionally good.

Gen 6 are a great motor, classic shape which wont age badly at all imo...

what kind of genres do you like?

god of war (action/adventure)
shadow of the colossus (really well done game, everyone should play this at some point!)
okami (adventure, get it if you like zelda type stuff)
mgs3 (you like mgs 2)
guitar hero 1/2 (rhythm game with guiter peripheral!)
final fantasy 12 (rpg)
