Have been drawn back to it once more, this time I have started to play Alliance with some mates of mine from Ducatisti.

I have statred a human mage, got to 12 in 4 hours last night which wasnt too bad, but seeing as i don't know any quests or where to go I can't complain.

Questions are:

1) What is the best leveling spec at low lvls for a mage? Or overall, now that 3.1.0 has come out i honestly dont know what has been tweaked :(

2) How long should it take these days to get to 60? Long?

3) Have mages been nerfed to hell or have they still got some fun left in them?

I have never raided, always played rogues, even since pre 1.10 (good old days), so this will be my first non rogue main! Scarey

Not sure if i want to keep to PVP this time as i always did. Might try raiding out... hmmm

Haven't played since TBC hit (naxx / bwl 40 mans > anything nowadays, but that's another story...).

Will have to disagree with the other opinioins here.

Fire for levelling, at least until later on. With regards to kiting masses of mobs, you need a decent amount of talent points to invest before frost becomes beneficial - cold snap, shatter, imp frostbolt, imp CoC etc... can't really remember the names now, but i would definately reccommend sticking with imp fireball, imp fireblast, etc etc...

When levelling up at the start fire kills mobs before they reach you, frost gives you a less downtime but much longer to kill mobs.

They work out about the same, the time you spend with fire blasting is short but you are down more, with frost you can normally squeeze in noe or 2 extra kills from the same mana pool, longer but less down time. So as i said, seems to be the same either way, just depends what you like i guess.
