Back up SMS messages

My Motorola V3x has started acting a little wild lately and I need to back up the messages in my inbox. Does anyone know how? I don't have a data cable, just a bluetooth dongle.

The phone refuses to let me access the inbox and instead flicks back to the standby screen. I've done a little bit research and it appears to be a common fault. So, I need to back up all my SMS messages before using the cleanup function or perhaps get myself a new phone...

Any ideas? Any help will be much appreciated :)

I thought that CPW did a backup service but apparently not anymore

Thanks.

Can't back up the SMS's on the cell phone as far as I know. or most phones for that matter. My K750i can do it though. :)

Get a better cell, and don't use Motorola again. :(

I have a few important text messages that I keep for reference but also ones that I'd personally like to keep. If I can save them then why not? :).

I also have a lot unread messages [due to me not being able to access them] that might or might not be urgent and I'd really like to read them first.

I've tried the mobiledit software but my silly phone doesn't have 'bluetooth serial port' so it looks like I'll have to find a data cable. Thank you for the suggestion.

Oh and Motorola phones aren't that bad. I've had the 'pleasure' of using many different brands of phones and each have their pros and cons. But let's save that for another thread ;).

Edit: Aha, looks like I might've hit gold with a weird motorola-dedicated forum... will report back soon :p
